CHOCOLATE for breakfast! It's getting cold down under and zingy tropical smoothies don't have quite the same appeal as they did two months ago. I'm still addicted to my daily greens in a glass, but can they come delivered smooth, creamy and comforting please??
Creamy Choc Kale Milkshake:
- 1 cup of home made coconut milk (from the Kind Milk Album)
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 Tbsp LSAC
- 1 big ass bunch of kale (stems removed if you have a regular blender)
Not pictured, but I added a handful of cashews for added creaminess and 3 dates for sweetness - these came later as I was tweaking the taste!
And WHY is cacao so superbly GOOD for you? It's a rich source of antioxidant flavonoids that promote cardiovascular health and protect against toxins. But it is also packed with a number of other beneficial nutrients - manganese to oxygenate the blood. Magnesium for your brain. Sulfur to build strong nails and hair, and promote beautiful skin.
