WHY haven't I made a pear smoothie until now! I've been seduced by all the tropical fruit that's available this never ending summer. But pears! They have a sweet buttery flavour & they are full of fibre, vitamins B2, C, E, copper, potassium and pectin (a water-soluble fibre).
The humble pear is the perfect companion for a green smoothie. This one is 2 pears, 1 frozen banana, pure water and a whole bunch of spinach and beetroot tops. I forgot to add chia to the blender! But no probs, unlike flaxseeds, chia is very soluble and can be digested just fine even if you forget to blend it, so sprinkle it on top! :) Simple and sensational. |
