A delightful variation on my Crispy Cumin Sesame Crackers, these addictive turmeric crackers pair perfectly with Rocket and Cashew Pesto, or you could whip up a chickpea hummus with tahini, lemon, garlic and olive oil for a protein and omega packed afternoon treat.
Dairy free, grain free, gluten free, sugar free and 100% natural. Just 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds provides you with 62% RDI of vitamin E, and 35% RDI of Vitamin B1 and Manganese. They contain a whole raft of other goodies like copper, magnesium, phosphorous, folate and selenium. Sesame seeds provide not only significant amounts of manganese and copper, but they are also a good source of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc and dietary fibre. Follow the recipe here and add 1 tsp turmeric (contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties) and dried thyme. Instead of pulsing sesame into a flour with sunflower seeds, stir them in later to achieve the crunchy sprinkled sesame texture. Plus! Add nutritional yeast for a cheesy parmesan flavour! |
